Details

Loving People is one of the central teachings of the Bible. When we look at the early Church that formed immediately after Jesus left, we see an intimate community of people sharing life together. We are convinced that the only way to Love People deeply is to be connected to them consistently. Group Life provides the environment for meaningful relationships to be fostered.

At Beacon, people connect in Small Groups that meet weekly in people’s homes throughout the area. These groups are designed to help you form deep bonds with other followers of Jesus, allowing you to practice loving people deeply while you also receive the support and encouragement of a group that will love you in return.

Family Over Friendship

Our hope for Small Groups is that they will become genuine spiritual families, not merely good friends. Friends tend to look similar, be in similar life-stage, share common interests—they naturally gravitate toward each other. Family on the other hand is comprised of people in different life stages, with a variety of interests, and having different dispositions. What unites family is the blood that courses through their veins. What unites Christ-centered, spiritual families is the blood that covers us.

For that reason, Beacon's Small Groups are demographically diverse. There will be couples, singles, parents, empty-nesters, young and old together in a single group. That's intentional. Even though it will feel less natural at first, we've found over and over again that it leads to richer community in the long run. We hope you'll give it a try.
